Free racing games usually pay for themselves with your patience: a video ad after every crash, an energy meter, a garage full of purchasable upgrades. Outburn 87 does none of it. You download the game, the whole game, and you drive. Between runs there is exactly nothing.

Skyplanes. Small planes occasionally cross the sky trailing a text banner, like at the beach. Brands charter them for one month of airtime. They are scenery, not adtech: no ad network, no targeting, no user data, just a short text in the sky. That single, honest mechanism keeps everything else free.

The game is around 7 MB. It was made in Amsterdam by the same maker as Snake '97, whose games have kept the same no-nonsense stance for fifteen years.
